The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ ALIF LAM MIM. 1 The Byzantians have been overcome. 2 in a nearby land. They will reverse their defeat with a victory 3 in a few years. To God belongs the Command before and after, and on that day the believers shall rejoice 4 In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 5 [It is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know. 6 They know but the outer (things) in the life of this world: but of the End of things they are heedless. 7 Have they never thought to themselves that Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between except with truth, and for a stated term? Yet most people disbelieve that they will ever meet their Lord. 8 Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed the earth and built it up more than they have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allah would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves. 9 Then evil was the end of those who did evil, because they belied the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, Messengers, etc.) of Allah and made mock of them. 10
