Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
