He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 and fearfully, 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and pious. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
