And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
