S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
