(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a reminder. And indeed, for the righteous is a good place of return 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 This is a crowd rushing in along with you; no welcome for them; verily they are to roast in the Fire. 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Verily this is the very truth: the wrangling of the fellows of the Fire! 64
