And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 (We answered his prayer, healed his sickness, and told him), "Run on your feet. This is cool water (for you) to wash and drink". 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 "Take a handful of herbs," (We said to him), and apply and rub them, and do not make a mistake." We found him patient in adversity, an excellent devotee, always turning in repentance. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 for, verily, We purified them by means of a thought most pure: the remembrance of the life to come. 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ having beside them well-matched mates of modest gaze." 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 and other sufferings of the kind. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 And they will say: 'Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here? 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
