Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
