Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Ha-Mim. 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 A Scripture whereof the verses are expounded, a Lecture in Arabic for people who have knowledge, 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism, and in His Messenger Muhammad SAW) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise). 8
