Elucidated (Fussilat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you – I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. – 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
