And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 You cannot challenge God on earth and you will have no one besides Him as your guardian or helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge. 35 So whatsoever things are vouchsafed unto you are but a passing enjoyment for the life of the world, and that which is with Allah, better and more lasting, is for those who believe and in their Lord put their trust. 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 Those who defend themselves after they have been wronged cannot be held blameworthy, 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 But withal, if one is patient in adversity and forgives - this, behold, is indeed something to set one's heart upon! 43
