Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the clear Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you, for that you are a prodigal people? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
