And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray." 27 The Lord will say, "Do not argue in My presence; I had certainly sent you a warning. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
