We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the trumpet will be blown: this is the Day of the Threatening. 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. 28 The Word cannot be changed with Me; I do not wrong My worshipers' 29
