Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
