Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 And it will be said to them, "Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur'an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
