Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
