Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Striking stones with their hooves, sparking fire. 2 while running during a raid at dawn, 3 Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Does he not know that on the day when those in the graves are resurrected 9 and that which is in the chest is brought out, 10 that on that Day their Sustainer [will show that He] has always been fully aware of them? 11
