Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
