Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
