Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
