Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
