The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 And the Book written 2 on fine parchment; 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 On the Day when they shall be thrust into Hell with a violent thrust (and shall be told): 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
