Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 Thamud, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
