Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
