Thamood cried lies to the warnings 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 (To him We said): 'Tomorrow they shall know who is the arrogant liar. 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 And tell them that the water [of the well] is to be divided between them, and that each one should drink in turn." 28 Eventually, they summoned their companion, and he undertook the (outrageous) task and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 30 Verily We, We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! 37 And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning. 38 "Taste My punishment now that you have scorned My warnings!" 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 40
