The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
