The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man, 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
