Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
Almighty Allah's Truth.
