Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 He said: O my people! verily I am unto you a warner manifest. 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 But the more I called, they only ran the farther away. 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 So that you may walk upon its spacious paths.' 20
