The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
