And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, i.e.) the remembrance of the home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter]. 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best. 48 This is a reminder. And indeed, for the righteous is a good place of return 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 wherein they shall recline, wherein they shall ask for abundant fruit and drinks, 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, 53 Verily this is Our provision: there will be no ceasing thereof. 54 This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return - 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 and other such torments. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
