Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 ‘And we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends goodness for them.’ 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
