Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
