Say, [O Muhammad], "I only invoke my Lord and do not associate with Him anyone." 20 Say thou: verily I own not for you power of hurt nor of benefit 21 Say: 'From God shall protect me not anyone, and I shall find, apart from Him, no refuge, 22 excepting a Deliverance from God and His Messages. And whoso rebels against God and His messenger, for him there awaits the Fire of Gehenna; therein they shall dwell forever.' 23 At length, when they see (with their own eyes) that which they are promised,- then will they know who it is that is weakest in (his) helper and least important in point of numbers. 24 Say: "I know not whether the (Punishment) which ye are promised is near, or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term. 25 The Knower of the unseen! so He does not reveal His secrets to any, 26 Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of watching guards (angels) to march before him and behind him. 27 so that He may know that they have delivered the Messages of their Lord and He encompasses all that is with them, and He has counted everything in numbers' 28
