The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 who creates [every thing,] and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be, 2 And who destined and [then] guided 3 and who brings forth herbage, 4 Then made it dry and dark. 5 By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget, 6 Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; 7 And We shall create the means of ease for you. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder profits, 9 Those who have fear of God will benefit 10 But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones, 11 [He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire, 12 in which he will neither die nor live therein. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And who mentioned the name of his Lord, then offered prayer. 15 Nay, you prefer the life of this world; 16 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelation),- 18 the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
