By no means! By the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 about the guilty ones: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
