No, by the moon! 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 Warn the men. 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
