By no means! By the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
