▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No! By the moon 32 By the night when it departs. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 a warning to humankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 "And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly." 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 "Till death overcame us." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.
