Nay, by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
