Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
