Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
