Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
