The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 Living therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
