The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
