The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
