The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
