The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
