The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
